The resume is a sales tool to get you the interview. Use it to present your work experience and skills related to a desired career move. Here are a few IT resume tips:
- Include a very brief summary at the beginning of the resume which highlights your experience related to the job you are seeking.
- Proofread extremely carefully. Don’t just use spell check. Ask a friend to read the resume and to look for typos or spelling mistakes.
- Include descriptive skills used with each job. For example:
“Provide support to project teams in systems analysis, system design, development a
OR
“Sold networking products to Data Center Managers in public sector
- Be complete but brief. Two pages is ideal. Don’t put in elaborate details on jobs that are 10 or 15 years old.
